Managing Multiple Instances of Apache

IMPORTANT:  To use Apache Manager, you must have a NetWare® 6.5 server installed and running somewhere in your network.

If you are running multiple instances of Apache on various platforms in your network---sometimes called a server farm---you can control them all by using Apache Manager. Apache Manager is a Novell sponsored open source product that provides single-point access to (and control over) all of your Web servers.

Because Apache Manager modifies the configuration files for you, it decreases the potential of human error, saving you time and unnecessary frustration. Also, Apache Manager lets you control Apache from anywhere that you have Internet access, even from remote locations, provided you have access rights to connect through your company firewall.

The Apache Manager application runs on NetWare 6.5 (and is included with NetWare 6.5). You must download and install the Apache Manager daemon onto each of your Linux servers.

For more information about Apache Manager, see Installing the Apache Manager Daemon on Windows or Linux in the Apache Web Server Administration Guide for NetWare 6.5.
